Some everyday health services are once again being provided in Saskatchewan but the Health Authority warns that it will be a different health care experience compared to pre-pandemic times.
Some of the additional measures include adopting waiting room practices that ensure physical distancing, there will be continued emphasis on virtual care if it is possible and there will be additional screening at health care facilities.
You are also advised that before going to any facility, you should phone ahead and confirm the services you need are available.
There are a number of new protocols in place at any Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities:
– will be pre-screened or screened on arrival at the facility entrance
-may be offered a mask or an opportunity to reschedule depending on screening results
-may experience an increased wait time for your exam
-may be asked to book an appointment for your exam even if you normally wouldn’t require one (e.g. general X-ray)
-may be asked to come back at a later time if you arrive when the waiting room is already full
-may be asked to wait in your car and called in when we are ready for you
are encouraged to wear a cloth mask if you have one available
-remember that visiting restrictions are still in effect at all Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities.
