Not surprisingly, International travel numbers, to and from Canada show travel coming to a standstill by the end of March. Statistics Canada says the effect of government-imposed travel restrictions and border closings aimed at containing COVID-19, resulted in international travel from overseas plummeting by 52.7 per cent. Closing the Canada-U.S. border pushed total crossings down by 2.8 million trips in March. It was the lowest number of border crossings for any month in 50 years. Stats Canada says April is poised to be worse.
