An Israeli Genomics Company is expanding to Canada and is opening an office in Saskatoon. The province says that NRGene coming here is the result of a trade mission to Israel in 2018. The company provides turn-key solutions to support agricultural research and breeding. The provincial government says NRGene provides some of the largest ag-based companies in the world with the computational tools they need to improve breeding of crop plants and animals. The government has been working with the company since 2015 and NRGene has had multiple collaborations with the University of Saskatchewan, the Global Institute for Food Security, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and other local commercial companies and academia.
