Saskatoon police say a woman was stabbed and then the van she’d been travelling in was stolen. It happened just after 8 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 500 block of Avenue X South.
A half hour later, another woman was assaulted while trying to get into her vehicle in the 200 block of Greenfield Crescent in Hampton Village and the van that was stolen earlier was found just a matter of blocks away abandoned on McKague Crescent. A canine track was successful and a suspect was found near the abandoned van. Police say they seized two knives while making the arrest.
A 44 year old man is facing a laundry list of charges including Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Robbery, Impersonation, Mischief under $5,000 – and those were in addition to outstanding warrants.
