For students who opted out of the supplemental, virtual learning which began in April, the message is it’s not too late to take back your year.
School divisions across the province are promoting that message through the hashtag #takebackyouryear on social media. Director of Education with the Horizon School Division, Kevin Garinger, says anyone can post a message or video of support, or students can talk about what they’ve learned.
He understands there may have been some boundaries because not everyone is connected to the internet, but through a SaskTel program, they have been distributing devices that create hot spots for families. The school division has been paying for the costs so families can have internet access.
The learning schedule, lessons, and course work are flexible to accommodate the needs of each family and student.
