The June Traffic Spotlight is on distracted driving. With Saskatchewan’s gradual re-opening, SGI says drivers should expect to see more traffic including motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians. Drivers are also reminded that holding, viewing, using, or manipulating a handheld cellphone while operating a motor vehicle will result in a $580 ticket along with four demerit points for a first-time offender, with even stiffer fines for repeat offenders. That also applies to anyone getting a ticket for driving without due care and attention.
