The President of the University of Saskatchewan says COVID-19 has created a positive for the post-secondary institution. Peter Stoicheff says increasing the quality and capacity of on-line courses has also increased who can access post-secondary education in Saskatchewan President Stoicheff has a message to the 2020 spring graduates on the University of Saskatchewan web page.
Graduates will begin receiving their parchments in June and the university will celebrate their graduates in other ways beginning later this month. That, of course, is because a normal convocation can’t take place due to COVID-19.
University President Peter Stoicheff say they do plan to invite all of the Class of 2020 back to campus on stage in person at some point in the future.
He does point out that the pandemic provided impetus to ramp up the University of Saskatchewan’s on line offerings meaning they have much greater reach provincially, nationally and globally.
