In the past 2 weeks, 29 suspicious fires have been reported within what police describe as Central Division. 20 of these fires have been within the boundaries of Avenue Y, Avenue K, 22nd street, and 17th Street. Five involved houses and five were in garages or sheds. Police believe different people may be involved. Police are dedicating resources to the area where the arsons have taken place. Anyone with information on who might be involved is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers. People are also encouraged to report suspicious activity.
