A routine traffic stop turned up more than Saskatoon Police officers bargained for. At 7:30 Tuesday night, officers stopped a suspended driver at 35th Street West and Avenue D. The driver was ticketed and he and his passenger were released as officers prepared to have the vehicle towed. They did an inventory of the vehicle before that and discovered two loaded firearms under the passenger seat. The driver and the passenger were arrested several blocks away. A 26 year old man from Rosthern and a 25 year old man from Saskatoon are facing a variety of weapon charges, and drug charges related to cocaine and methamphetamine.
