What started as a Facebook post in a private group has turned into an awareness on racism in Regina.
Christian Mbanza was pictured entering his own vehicle, with the post accusing him of breaking into the vehicle. Mbanza, a former Regina Thunder football player and current seventh grade teacher, shared the post on his own Facebook page, calling it an example of racial bias affecting judgement.
Mbanza says this wasn’t the first case of racism he has had to deal with but it has allowed people to have an important conversation about racism.
Mbanza says he originally wasn’t going to make his Facebook post, but was encouraged to by friends. The post has exceeded over two thousand shares.
