There is another rally planned for Saskatoon and this one is called the Justice for George Rally. Organizers, on their Facebook group, say it is a peaceful rally and encourages everyone to wear face masks and take hand sanitizer. It is supposed to honour the life of George Floyd, the black man who died during an arrest in Minnesota. The officer involved now faces murder charges. The rally is slated for 6 p.m. at City Hall.
As far as people not complying with social distancing protocols the Saskatoon Police Service stated earlier this week that it’s up to Public Health to take the lead on whether there should be an investigation.
And yesterday the province, just on the cusp of Phase 3 of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan, reiterated the current public health order calling for gatherings of no more than 10 people and physical distancing of at least 2 metres.
There was an anti-racism rally held in Saskatoon Saturday and one held at the Legislature in Regina on Tuesday.
