More phone calls and online meetings have become the norm for many businesses.
That’s also the case for the Canadian Red Cross as it continues to deliver its services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Saskatchewan, the Red Cross has organized a Friendly Phone program for isolated seniors.
Provincial Red Cross spokesperson, David Smith, says they have reviewed their policies and procedures about how they deliver services to those in need, and are now doing more of a virtual response where they can, meaning over the phone.
When that’s not possible, the Red Cross has Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available for staff, and training and guidelines to be able to deliver services safely in person. The Red Cross also has tips on how to keep yourself as safe as possible from transmission of the virus.
