The Water Security Agency is expanding the High Streamflow Advisory for the Churchill River System. It now includes the headwater areas of the Meadow Lake area. People are advised to stay clear of the fast-flowing water and potentially unstable banks. People should also be aware of threats to buildings or infrastructure close to water bodies. The area affected includes the Beaver River and its tributaries, including Horsehead, Rabbit, Morin, and Alcott creeks, as well as the Makwa and Meadow rivers. Stream flows and lake levels are above to well above normal because of 90-120 mm of rain that fell between June 3 and 7th, in an area from Glaslyn to Cold Lake, including portions of Meadow Lake Provincial Park. Some localized flooding in low-lying areas is expected.
