Saskatchewan Polytechnic has joined a digital technology supercluster, working on something called, “Project Looking Glass.” It’s a project where government and industry take COVID-19 data to assess potential benefits and risks of public policy and practice. The goal is to better inform policy direction as Canada looks to a return to normal work and community life. The unique co-operative venture is based on a distributed computing platform developed by King Distributed Systems. It allows computations to be performed by idle computers found in schools, homes, and businesses. Kings is offering the platform at no cost to universities and high schools across Canada. Saskatchewan Polytechnic will be powering predictive models that generate insights for Saskatchewan municipal decision-makers.
