Saskatoon’s Downtown YMCA will re-open on Monday, with a few limitations due to public health orders.
The YMCA will be open 7am – 7pm, Monday to Friday, barring any revisions from the Government of Saskatchewan. The YMCA say they will be following the required capacity limits along with all required health recommendations. Dean Dodge, the CEO of YMCA Saskatoon says, all locations and equipment have been cleaned thoroughly and staff have been trained to return to their positions.
Gyms and fitness facilities were allowed to re-open as part of phase 3 of Saskatchewan’s Re-opening plan, which began this past Monday. Many of the province’s guidelines that were included, pertain to physical distancing being maintained and stringent cleaning and disinfecting protocols being established in each location. Many gyms will be screening upon arrival by asking if people are sick or symptomatic. Signage is likely to be on display throughout facilities reinforcing key messages of physical distancing, wiping equipment and hygiene protocols.
