A hot day across Saskatchewan Saturday saw a good portion of the province hit 30 degree temperatures.
Mark Melsness, with Environment Canada, says the hot spot was the Swift Current area at 33 degrees and most places saw temperatures a few degrees shy of records, which would be in the mid to high 30’s for this time of year.
The Regina area got the bulk of the wind in the province, and while Melsness says winds gusted into the 80’s they didn’t quite reach the warning levels of 90 km/h. For Saskatoon peak winds hit around 70 km/h on Saturday.
On Sunday, Melsness says a good chunk of southern Saskatchewan should see rain as showers move in from Montana. Winds should be dropping, with winds gusting to 40 km/h in Saskatoon Sunday morning and tapering off in the afternoon. Temperature wise, the cold front bringing rain showers in should drop things down to the low 20 to mid 20 degree mark.
