The Saskatchewan government says the province’s wholesale trade in April 2020 was up 1.6 per cent over the previous month which was the highest increase among provinces and far ahead of the Canadian average. Nationally, wholesale trade declined 21.6 per cent.
Trade and Export Development Minister Jeremy Harrison says this shows that Saskatchewan is better positioned than many other jurisdictions to recover from the pandemic.
On a year over year basis, wholesale trade was down by 2.7 per cent. Nationally, year over year, the drop was 23.4 per cent.
