A Saskatoon man is facing child porn charges in connection to an investigation that began in March of this year. The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit says they were investigating a person distributing child pornography through a popular social media application. On Thursday, members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a Saskatoon home that was identified as the location where the distribution had taken place.
Police allege there was child pornography at the location and two mobile homes have been seized for further forensic analysis.
22 year old John P. Malsi of Saskatoon was arrested, charged and made his first court appearance Thursday on two counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Distributing Child Pornography. He is back in court August 27th.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service.
