If you noticed a commotion between Circle Drive South and Valley Road and the Gordie Howe Bridge this morning, it was a person in the river. Emergency Services flooded into the area after getting a call around 10:30 that a man had gone into the South Saskatchewan River. The water rescue unit deployed onto the river from the emergency boat launch and the battalion chief continued with police towards the last known location of individual. When they arrived, the man had self rescued from the river and was heading towards the police officers waiting on shore.
