A 44 year old Saskatoon man is in custody following a report of a disturbance that resulted in Police deploying a taser.
At approximately 11:44p.m., on Friday, Saskatoon Police received a report of a disturbance at a home in the 1700 block of 11th Street West. When officers arrived, they say they attempted to arrest a man known to police who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for theft under $5000. The man reportedly became aggressive and at one point he grabbed hold of an officers duty belt. A taser was deployed and he was taken into custody without further incident. Medavie Health Services attended and medically cleared the man to attend detention.
The man is now facing an additional charge of resist arrest and breach of probation.
Saskatoon Police Service say the incident will be reviewed in accordance with policy.
