Saskatoon Police have laid more than 100 charges against a man and woman from Saskatoon in connection to a firearms trafficking case. The investigation kicked off back on April 9th when patrol officers were called out to a disturbance in the 2400 block of Arlington Avenue. A man was reportedly banging on windows and doors of a home in Saskatoon’s Eastview neighbourhood.
When officers got there they found a suspect and searched a vehicle where they allegedly located three guns, with one of them loaded as well as cocaine, methamphetamine and cash. That led to a search of a home in the 1000 block of Avenue H North where police seized a sawed off rifle, various rifle parts and a money counter. That search led officers to a storage unit in the 29-hundred block of Wanuskewin Road where they say they encountered five firearms along with various types of ammunition and modified firearms parts.
Saskatoon Police believe the weapons were acquired, modified and trafficked for use by Saskatoon street gang members. A 29 year old man faces drug and proceeds of crime charges while a 27 year old woman faces approximately 28 firearm related charges.
