The Saskatoon North Partnership for Growth, or P4G, has completed a draft for the district’s official community plan.
This is a large step for the P4G, as they look to replace the existing Corman Park-Saskatoon Planning District. Residents of the P4G include the RM of Corman Park, cities of Saskatoon, Warman and Martensville, and the Town of Osler.
Neal Sarnecki, Director of the Saskatoon North Partnership for Growth, says the goal of the official community plan is to ensure each of the five partnering municipalities can plan for and benefit from growth opportunities, increased efficiencies and reduced costs by working together.
Online consultation is now open for residents and stakeholders at partnershipforgrowth.ca
Sarnecki encourages all those interested to view the website to understand how the DOCP will work and learn the next steps.
According to the P4G, the latest projections show the Saskatoon region nearing a population of 500,000 in the next 20 years, and they anticipate the Saskatoon region could achieve a population of one million in the next 60 years.
