A 33-year-old man has been charged with 14 weapon-related offences after Saskatoon Police arrested him at about 5:40 Tuesday morning while in possession of several weapons.
At the time of the arrest, patrol officers spotted an agitated man on a sidewalk, walking in the area of 33 Street West and Valens Drive, while brandishing a baseball bat and a hatchet. Upon approaching him, the officers couldn’t get the man to relinquish his weapons…arresting him after a brief altercation. No one was injured. The officers believed the man was under the influence of methamphetamine. Upon his arrest, the man was found to also be concealing another hatchet, a hack-saw, three knives and a hammer.
