Canada’s chief medical health officer says anti-vaccine sentiments may play a role when and if a COVID-19 vaccine is available to fight the pandemic.
Dr. Theresa Tam says it’s something they need to plan for right now, although a vaccine may not become available any time soon.
Ahead of any vaccine though, Tam says Canada will have prepared and pre-stockpiled approaches and measures, including education on misinformation around vaccines.
Meantime, there are 104,772 cases in Canada, with 8,642 deaths.
65% of all cases have recovered.
When asked about whether U.S. baseball teams could use Rogers Centre and the attached hotel as a quarantine base in order to play in Toronto, Dr. Tam suggested a quarantine bubble situation might work.
She says the plans are being reviewed by different levels of government. (CJGX)
