On Thursday, Ponoka RCMP arrested a 33 year old-man, after what appeared to be a random home invasion.
At 7:07 p.m., police responded to a 911 call that reported an elderly man was home alone when he answered a knock at his door.
He says he let an unknown man in who began to take items from his home, pushed the homeowner down, and took a knife and cut the phone cord. He then departed on a bicycle.
The homeowner was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Following this incident, other complaints were received in relation to the suspect, including that he allegedly made unsuccessful threats to steal a vehicle.
At 7:49 p.m., as a result of public tips, the RCMP located and arrested the man without incident.
The 33-year-old faces multiple charges, including robbery, assault, and break and enter.
