Environment Canada is confirming that multiple tornadoes touched down in Saskatchewan on Saturday.
Mark Melsness, with Environment Canada, says the first was to the west of Assiniboia, closer to the south of Glenbain. Melsness confirms that at around 4:30 p.m the tornado touched down and stayed for approximately 35-40 minutes, tracking in the east to south east direction.
Another tornado to the south of Assiniboia lasted for about 10 minutes.
There was also reports of softball sized hail in the Glenbain area, and a handful of golf ball sized stones in other areas.
Melsness says, any ongoing thunderstorms in east central Saskatchewan, should diminish Sunday as severe weather threats shift east into Manitoba.
Finally posting some videos from today's chase. Amazing tornadoes and an incredible chase. Hoping there is not much damage from these and they simply twisted over open fields. #skstorm #ShareYourWeather @CTVwdean pic.twitter.com/0FiFC4lGpp
