Of the 185 businesses that started operations at Innovation Place at the University of Saskatchewan, 123 are still active in the province. 62 are located in Saskatchewan’s two technology parks and 61 are operating elsewhere in the province. That’s part of the information released today (mon) by the Saskatchewan Opportunities Corporation. SOCO’s Annual Report says the company continues to provide a supportive environment for technology companies. That includes entrepreneurs active in agri-tech, health and life sciences, information and communications technology, and natural resource sectors. The report says SOCO generated $3 million net income with total revenue of $39.5 million.
Innovation Place received a 94.5 per cent approval rating from tenants. In the last fiscal year, 13 new tech companies have started at there. SOCO operates under the business name, Innovation Place. Another technology park is located at the University of Regina. Together, the two are home to 150 tenants employing more than 38 hundred people.
