You can expect to see Service Canada centres slowly re-open since being shuttered in late March because of COVID-19. The federal government announced today it is going to begin what it describes as the gradual and safe reopening of up to 90 in-person locations across the country.
Minister responsible Ahmed Hussen says decisions about reopening are being guided by public health advice in addition to making it a priority for as many Canadians as possible to access an open Service Canada office.
The online portal established during the pandemic remains active so Canadians will be able to submit an online request through the eServiceCanada portal and then receive a callback from a Service Canada officer within two days. While in-person services will be reopening, the federal government still urges Canadians to use the online services whenever possible.
