Moose Jaw RCMP say two women suffered serious injuries after a southbound truck, trying to avoid a southbound SUV which was slowing to make a turn, pulled into oncoming traffic and collided with a car.
The two people injured were in the northbound car and one woman was taken by ambulance to Moose Jaw Hospital while the other was taken by STARS to Regina hospital.
RCMP are thanking people at the scene because when the accident happened, those nearby included nurses, a paramedic and a firefighter who were already helping the injured when emergency services arrived. The public also helped block off the road until RCMP could take over.
The accident happened just before noon on Saturday on Highway 2 north of Buffalo Pound Lake and that area of the two lane highway was blocked off for some time. There is no word on charges, the matter is still under investigation.
