A 31 year old Lloydminster man is facing preliminary charges of Evade Police and Dangerous Driving after an incident just after two o’clock this morning (tues) that began as a traffic stop on the 13 hundred block of 8th Street East. Saskatoon Police say the driver did stop briefly and a passenger fled from the vehicle on foot. The driver then continued down 8th Street and then southbound, out of the city. Members of the Police Air Support Unit kept their eyes on the vehicle, watching it travel to Dundurn and then turn back to the city on Highway 11. A tire deflation device near Vic Boulevard in Stonebridge was successful in damaging the tires but the suspect wasn’t actually pulled over until he hit a pothole near Herold Road in Lakewood. Police allege that inside the vehicle they found alcohol, a bag of Gabapentin pills, and drug paraphernalia.
