Wholesale merchants’ sales were down about five per cent April to May in Saskatchewan. The only other province is negative territory was Prince Edward Island which was down about 29 per cent. Nationally, sales were up 5.7 per cent. Compared to May a year ago, sales here were down about five per cent again. Nationally, the numbers were worse, off 17.7 per cent. Total sales in Saskatchewan in May rang in at about $2.16 billion.
