Suspect Allegedly Tries to Hide in Meadow Green Home
Saskatoon Police say around 11 o’clock Sunday night, a Canine Unit spotted a suspicious vehicle at Avenue T and 29th Street. The driver wouldn’t stop for police but a tire deflation device was successful and the vehicle was found abandoned at Witney Avenue and 20th Street. Police say that inside, they found ammunition, firearm magazines, multiple cell phones, heroin, Fentanyl, methamphetamine, and shatter. As they searched for a suspect, a witness told officers that a man had just entered their home on the 100 block of Vancouver Avenue South where police say he was found trying to hide. He was arrested without incident. A 33 year old man is facing numerous charges including Evading Police, and weapons and drug charges.
Charges Laid in Bear Spray Incident
Saskatoon Police say a 20 year old man from the city is facing a laundry list of charges including weapons and drug charges after three people were bear sprayed Sunday morning. The incident kicked off around 8 a.m. at 20th Street West and Avenue G South where three people had been approached by another man and after a brief conversation the unknown man allegedly deployed bear spray at the trio. Police say they tracked a suspect to where he was trying hide beneath a deck in the 300 block of Avenue G South. Police seized bear spray, methamphetamine and multiple cell phones.
Prowler in Stonebridge
Just before three o’clock Sunday morning, a witness told Saskatoon Police that he saw a male and a female take a jogger stroller from a yard on the 1100 block of Pringle Way. The Air Support Unit was quickly able to locate two suspects. A ground unit was directed to the scene where the male fled on a bicycle and the female was taken into custody. Air Support was able to direct officers on the ground to the male, who was arrested. The female was charged with Possession of Cocaine and had a number of Traffic Safety warrants. The male had several Traffic Safety warrants and 17 Criminal Code warrants. The matter is still under investigation.
Rock Throwing Suspect
Saskatoon Police say a 35 year old woman was arrested after allegedly smashing two picture windows at a business on the 100 block of Avenue F South. Around 8:20 Sunday night, police were told a woman was throwing rocks at the windows. Two were damaged and the woman fled the scene. But, witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect who was located in an alley. Police say she resisted arrest but was taken into custody. Police allege she was carrying a large quantity of methamphetamine and was wanted on two criminal code warrants. She faces four charges and will be in court Monday.
