The Consumer Price Index rose 0.7 per cent in Saskatchewan in June compared to a year ago. That’s the same rate of inflation as nationally. Statistics Canada says the year-over-year increase in the CPI for June rose at its fastest pace nationally since March 2011. Prices rose in five of the eight major components on a year-over-year basis. Food and shelter prices contributed the most to the increase in the CPI. Saskatoon also stayed to the national average, registering a 0.7 per cent rise in June. Regina registered an increase of 0.8 per cent.
