Saskatchewan RCMP are on the hunt for three men wanted in a multi-million dollar online romance scam investigation.
The investigation spanned a 24 month period using a series of surveillance operations, numerous interviews and several judicial authorizations that allowed them to investigate over 50 Canadian bank accounts.
Saskatchewan’s Federal Serious Organized Crime Unit say they have been able to prove the scammer defrauded seven women of over $360,000 over a period of only two years. The woman say they have collectively lost more than two million dollars during the course of these relationships.
Austin Newton, 28 years old, was arrested in Edmonton in January this year in connection to the case. 25 year old Kelvin Awani turned himself into police. Now investigators are looking for Jonah Eigbuluese, Clinton Newton and Joshua Ometie. Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP at 310-RCMP (7267) or their local police service. Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitting a tip online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
