Saskatchewan has the highest weekly per-capita average of COVID-19 cases in Canada, which has the official opposition urging the government for answers.
The European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention reports that about 2.96 people per 100-thousand Saskatchewan people are infected with the virus.
NDP Leader Ryan Meili says there needs to be more specifics on what the cut off would be for when action would be taken to possibly retract part of the opening of the economy.
He would also like more specifics on the plans for schools, more guidance on when to wear a mask and he would like more testing availability so both testing and contact tracing can move along more quickly.
Meili adds that although he believes communities with outbreaks like Hutterite colonies should be identified, he thinks it’s how the information is communicated that matters, because it could alienate them and have them retreating further from testing.
