Unity RCMP say details they learned during the course of an investigation into an alleged assault and parental abduction led to concern for the well being of three children so the process of issuing an Amber Alert was initiated.
The Amber Alert was stood down when the children were located Tuesday evening at 10:16 p.m. in the care of a woman in Maidstone.
The incident rolled out around 5 o’clock on Tuesday when police were called to a home in Unity after receiving a report of an assault and possible parental abduction. Police say three children were taken from their mother’s.
The suspect truck was pulled over on Highway 4 near what is known as the Matador grid south of Kyle. The children’s father and his brother have been arrested and are in court next week facing a variety of charges including break and enter, uttering threats, assault, possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose and abduction.
