Saskatchewan Day is here again and for many today is a holiday, the City of Saskatoon is reminding on some of the service going-ons in the city Monday.

Garbage, recycling and organic collections will continue today as scheduled.

The landfill will be open until 5:30 pm, the city reminds that cash transactions are suspended until further notice due to COVID-19. High traffic is expected at the landfill and residents may experience longer than normal wait times.

The West Compost depot is open until 6 p.m while the East depot (opens at 11am) will be open until 5p.m.

With greater demand on recycling depot use the city kindly reminds residents to not overfill bins and to close the lids after use, to avoid potentially contaminated material from being wind-blown into neighboring areas.

Fixed-route transit will operate with a holiday service today, the city recommends checking the real-time mobile transit app for details or calling Transit customer service for more information.

Customer service phone lines will be open until 6 p.m, but the transit customer service center will be closed for walk in customers.

Access transit will operate from 9am until 11 p.m.

There is no payment required today for the city’s pay parking spots, payment maybe required in private parking lots. The city reminds residents that all other parking requirements are still in effect.

The municipal impound lot will not be releasing vehicles to the public today.

The City of Saskatoon is reminding residents of some of the leisure activities open this Saskatchewan day.

• The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo will (park open at 8:30 with the Zoo at 9) and the zoo will close at 4pm with the park closing at 4:30.
• The city’s three golf courses are open and are taking tee time bookings online, by phone, or at the golf course. Check the city’s website for golfing guidelines.
• George Ward and Riversdale pools are open until 6 p.m with a maximum capacity of 85 swimmers.
• For leisure centres Lakewood Civic Centre and the Shaw Centre have re-opened with limited drop-in programs. The Shaw Centre Fitness & Weight Room, and walking track are open with the pool back on Wednesday. Lakewood Civic Centre pool is now open.
