Two provincial Ministers met with Tristen Durocher on Wednesday to talk about suicide prevention.
Durocher walked from Air Ronge to Regina, a trip of over 630 kilometres then set up camp with the Walking With Our Angels Group across from the Saskatchewan Legislature in Wascana Park.
He has been on a hunger strike since last Friday.
A statement from the government says Minister of Rural and Remote Health, Warren Kaeding, and Minister of First Nations, Metis, and Northern Affairs, Lori Carr met with Mr. Durocher on the front lawn of the Legislative Assembly.
The government will continue working to implement Pillars for Life: The Saskatchewan Suicide Prevention Plan and will continue to engage with the FSIN, Metis Nation-Saskatchewan, northern leaders and frontline workers.
Durocher said earlier this week that some public health experts consider the legislation so vague it’s essentially meaningless.
