A police chase around two o’clock this morning (mon) ended with the suspect vehicle leaving the road, striking a tree, and coming to a stop at 31st Street and Avenue I North. Saskatoon Police say it began at 20th and Avenue H South when the driver refused to stop and began driving erratically. The male driver and his male passenger both fled the vehicle. The driver was tracked down by a Canine Unit inside a garage on the 700 block of 32nd Street West. He was treated for a minor dog bit injury. The passenger got away.
Police allege that during a search of the vehicle, officers found a stolen package, a machete, and a pellet gun. The 39 year old driver is facing several charges including Dangerous Driving, Break and Enter, and Possession of Stolen Property.
