The Saskatchewan RCMP Underwater Recovery Team is now on scene at Bittern Lake after a man, who tried to save a woman from drowning, didn’t resurface.
Montreal Lake RCMP say this happened on Saturday around 3 p.m. when a boat carrying eight people on Bittern Lake had waves crashing over the boat which resulted in one woman being swept overboard.
A 23 year old man jumped in the water after her and while he didn’t resurface, the woman did. The boat began taking on water and the remaining passengers swam, making it to shore safely.
The search has been ongoing by family and friends, local RCMP, Prince Albert Grand Council while STARS and CASARA flew over the area. The Grandmother’s Bay Recovery Team will search the water with their remote-operated vehicle Monday. There has still been no sign of the missing 23 year old.
