The SaskParty government has pushed the start of the school year back by one week, but the NDP suggests maybe a couple more weeks would be the prudent, so class sizes can be addressed.
Education critic Carla Beck says its a request that may not go over well with some, but its one that is needed because of safety concerns….
She says, “I would be loathe to upend things again, but I would also be loathe to be sending students back into crowded conditions, and teachers and staff back into crowded conditions without addressing class size.”
Beck says Premier Scott Moe has shown no responsibility for the back-to-school plan which is one the opposition says is failing Saskatchewan students, teachers and staff.
She adds most people are telling the NDP that class size is the number one concern they have about the plan.
