The MLA for Humboldt-Watrous announced approval today to begin the planning and design of a new school in her riding. Donna Harpauer says the new and modern facility will replace Lanigan Elementary and Lanigan High School.
The school will have a mental health element, according to the government, by providing counselling spaces for both students and staff.
At this stage of the process they are looking for a project manager for what has been dubbed Lanigan’s new community learning hub which is expected to accommodate approximately 400 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Construction is expected to begin sometime in 2021 with the school completed in 2023 at a cost of $21 million.
