Cellular services to the communities still dealing with a SaskTel outage, should be restored this afternoon or by early evening. That includes Mildred, Chitek Lake, Leoville, Shell Lake, Witchekan Lake, Rabbit Lake and Belbutte.
SaskTel says its crews worked through Monday night to get the transport and core equipment that was damaged in a fire, at the SaskTel building in Spiritwood on the weekend, replaced and reconnected.
SaskTel says it will need to build a permanent Central Distribution Office in order to fully restore all services in the area and that could take another 10 days.
The company says as soon as cellular services are operational, they will then focus on restoration of data service and landline. Without data services, businesses that have been impacted cannot do debit or credit payments and if you are visiting this area it is recommended you have cash.
And if you need emergency services you need to physically contact, actually go to, the emergency service provider be it ambulance, RCMP or health facility.
