The count is up to 19 players opting out of their C-F-L contracts with Saskatchewan after the Roughriders released a pair of imports Tuesday in defensive lineman Chris Livings and linebacker Matthew Thomas.
Both will have to return to the Green and White through 2021 as the Riders retain their C-F-L rights. Following is the news release from the Roughriders…..

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced the following players have opted out of their contracts to pursue NFL opportunities per the agreement between the CFL and the CFLPA after the cancellation of the 2020 season:
- American defensive lineman Chris Livings (rights retained through 2021)
- American linebacker Matthew Thomas (rights retained through 2021)
