Sunday is Firefighters’ National Memorial Day and the Saskatoon Fire Department will observe a moment of silence Sunday at 10 a.m. At that time, in honour of the day, Saskatoon firefighters will be attention on the ramps of their stations with flags at half-mast.
Established in 2017 by the Federal Government, Firefighters’ National Memorial Day recognizes the dangers that firefighters often face and the ultimate sacrifice of those who perished in the line of duty. The second Sunday of September has been designated annually as Firefighters’ National Memorial Day, thus it falls on Sunday, September 13th for 2020.
