The Mtis Nation-Saskatchewan (MN-S) have announced that their President, Glen McCallum has tested positive for COVID-19 despite being asymptomatic.
The MN-S says President McCallum is self-isolating and following all public health protocols.
McCallum was tested as a preventative measure given his role in the community and to ensure he and everyone he comes in contact with remains safe. MN-S stated Sunday that despite taking
precautions, McCallum still contracted the virus and he and the MN-S are fully engaged with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) efforts to support appropriate contact tracing.
Alongside the news, the Hawood Inn at Waskesiu Lake says they will be closing for 4 days after recently hosting McCallum and his council as guests. In a statement, the Hawood Inn said due diligence is being taken and they have decided to deep clean all rooms and common areas. They have hired a professional team to sterilize the entire building.
