According to Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, the country is at a crossroads when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic.
She says she is worried about the increasing numbers of cases, including in hospitals in four provinces including Saskatchewan.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is stressing the need for the public to follow the guidelines, including downloading the COVID alert app. He says what we do now will be critical for the weeks and months to come.
Meantime, the government continues to secure potential vaccine candidates for distribution once approvals have been granted.
There are 149,094 cases in Canada, along with 9,249 deaths.
