C-SPAN is reporting U.S. President Donald Trump has been transported by helicopter to a military hospital. He and his wife Melania tested positive for COVID-19 late Thursday night.
Sean Conley, physician to the U.S. President, confirmed in writing that Donald Trump and his wife Melania tested positive and the President also used Twitter to convey the news saying they had tested positive and would begin their quarantine and recovery immediately. Quarantine is 14 days and ends with a negative COVID-19 test. The election in the States is just a month away on November 3rd.
CTV reports the positive test came just hours after the President confirmed his senior aide Hope Hickes had the virus. She travelled with the president several times this week. It has also been reported that Trump will spend a few days at a military hospital and will continue to work from the hospital’s presidential suite. The White House reports that the President is feeling fatigued. Due to Trump’s age, he’s 74, he is considered to be at higher risk of serious complications. COVID-19 has killed more than 205-thousand people in the U-S.
Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden posted on Twitter that he and his wife send their thoughts to the President and the First Lady. The Biden’s recent tests were negative.
