The man charged in the 2018 death of James Chaisson has been sentenced to life in prison. Brandin Cole Brick, 29 years, was sentenced to life in prison, with no eligibility for parole for 12 years, after being found guilty of 2nd degree murder.
Brick was also found guilty of possessing a firearm while prohibited and breaching conditions. He was acquitted on charges of kidnapping, unlawful confinement and possessing a loaded firearm.
Brick was originally charged with first degree murder for the early morning shooting death of James Chaisson on February 14, 2018. After Chaisson was shot the 28 year old man was found in front of a house on Avenue P South. After a warrant was issued for his arrest, Brick was arrested in the 400 block of Avenue S South a few days later on February 17th. With time served, He will be eligible for parole on February 15th of 2030.
