Driving a vehicle with tinted windows and tinted tail-lights turned out to be the least of Andrew Jay Anderson’s offences.
A 35-year-old from Regina, Anderson was stopped near Herbert around 6:30 p.m. on Friday when the R-C-M-P’s Roving Traffic Unit pulled over his east-bound vehicle. During the stop, the officer found Anderson in possession of a pack of unstamped tobacco and immediately arrested him. That led to a full search of the vehicle that turned up half a kilogram of methamphetamine (pictured), 18 individual half-gram bags (pictured below) of suspected cocaine, about $1,600 in Canadian currency, brass knuckles, a taser and a collapsible baton. Anderson appeared before a Justice of the Peace in Swift Current on Saturday on charges of possession of unstamped tobacco, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possession of a dangerous weapon and three counts of carrying a concealed weapon. Anderson was released on a release order and will make an appearance in Swift Current Provincial Court on Wednesday.
